Last year, Citibank was faced with the huge task of transferring 1,700 employees from five different premises to a new purpose built facility. Cronin - The art of moving were selected to manage the whole relocation and primarily chosen for a proven track record on major relocation projects and on the fact that they had been awarded a CMG Commercial Mover of the Year Certificate, the only Irish company with this accreditation.

The planning of the move commenced six months prior to the relocation and the move itself took place out of hours on a phased basis. Citibank's principle concern was to guarantee minimum disruption to both its customers and employees throughout the move. As a result the majority of the move took place after hours and over weekends, achieving a remarkable zero downtime for their business.

As with any project undertaken by Cronin, the key to a successful move is careful planning, strong management and a quality service delivered with flexibility. In terms of planning the Citibank move, Cronin went a step further. In addition to a global transfer plan, a separate transfer plan was developed for each phase of the move covering all aspects including scheduling and resourcing. Each plan was evolved while working closely with the client and from floor plans of the individual premises. Following comprehensive surveys in each building, all aspects were fully covered including notifying the appropriate authorities, protection of lifts and floors and insurance cover. Special attention was paid to the computer equipment, servers and any other high value or sensitive equipment that was transferred to their new facility. Where required, Cronin dismantled systems furniture and reassembled at their new location.

Now, for the first time in four years, the Citibank workforce are under one roof in their state of the art new corporate facility, ideally located in Dublin's IFSC.
