A Healthy Move...
Moving house can be one of the most traumatic and stressful experiences of your life so you can imagine what was involved in relocating three large hospitals to one new facility, the largest ever single commercial relocation in Ireland. The monumental task of relocating the three fully operational city centre hospitals in Dublin to the new multi-million pound new facility located in Tallaght was carried out by Cronin - The art of moving.
Cronin have previously carried out work for various hospitals and were recommended for their excellent level of service. On being awarded the contract, Tim Cronin, MD commented "This project is an exciting challenge in planning and logistics. To move three fully operational city hospitals to a new state of the art facility with the physical relocation happening in a matter of days was a challenge that suited the talents of our commercial relocation team. "
The service offered to the hospitals by Cronin was based on a Total Move Management Package where Cronin became involved in all aspects of the move including the planning and transfer management. During this crucial phase, Tim Cronin and his team fully dedicated their time and resources to working with the management of the four hospitals and the Transfer Team to strategically plan and execute the move utilising time and resources as efficiently as possible.
From there, the task involved transferring all areas of the three hospitals to the Tallaght Hospital. Cronin had specialist records management people who managed the huge task of sequentially transferring 180,000 patient records and over 400,000 X-Rays whilst other move planners were assigned to plan and manage the specialist equipment and transfer of materials to the new facility. One of the challenges of the move was the transfer of the stone angel which stood over the National Children's Hospital for almost 100 years to the new facility at Tallaght.
All Cronin crew wore Polo Shirts bearing the slogan "Please be patient while we move you!" The humor was very much welcomed by all.
